Registration for the 2017 Youth Sailing Programs Lottery is now closed!

Understanding the Wait List Process:

Registrations received after February 19th will be handled in the order in which they are received.  After the lottery is run and classes assigned (this will take place the week of Feb 20 - 24) if spaces remain, we will immediately begin assigning those spaces to students off of the waiting list.  It is impossible for us to tell if, or when a spot in a class appropriate for the age/size/skill level of your child will become open, but we would encourage you to submit a registration:  there is no deposit or payment required, and you are not obligated to take a spot if one is eventually offered.

All registration is handled online, if you are unable to register online, we will be more than happy to fill out your registration over the phone, or visit us here at our offices in Ft. Adams State Park.

Please double and triple check for accuracy in your contact information (especially your email address) as this can be the cause for confusion with the auto-responder email that serves as your confirmation of registration.  If you do not receive this email (it will come from info@sailnewport.org), then something has gone wrong with your registration and we might not have it.  Check your spam/bulk boxes and if you don’t have it, give us a call and we can check on it for you. 

The best way to increase your child’s chances of getting a spot in the program is to be flexible with session dates.  If you are able to attend alternative sessions, add them to your list of preferences.  Be sure to check your schedule and ours, and pay careful attention to the age requirements for different programs,  so you don’t indicate sessions that your child can’t attend.  Accuracy with regards to a students DOB, weight and height is helpful for us in making the most appropriate class placement. Please include any notes in the last comments box at the bottom of the registration regarding friends/relatives that your child is hoping to be in a session with.

No payment is due with your registration.

  • Minimum Age Requirements: 
  • Students wishing to participate in the Little Guppies Program must have birth years of 2010 and 2011

    Students wishing to participate in the 2-Week Dinghy Program must have turned 7 before January 1, 2017 (birth year of 2009 or earlier).

    Students wishing to participate in the Youth Keelboat Program must have turned 12 before January 1, 2017 (birth year of 2004 or earlier).
